Mavericks House Wedding in Half Moon Bay
I’m always a little surprised when I realize a wedding at Mavericks House in Half Moon Bay hasn’t been blogged yet, because it’s such a memorable venue and this day was especially meaningful.
A + M’s wedding was held at Mavericks House, a wonderful coastal gem of a bay area wedding venue in Half Moon Bay that works beautifully for weddings and intimate events. The setting is relaxed and scenic, with space to gather, celebrate, and move through the day without feeling rushed.
I first spent time with A + M over dinner at Wayfare Tavern, where they each shared their version of how they met. As with most couples, the stories weren’t exactly the same, which is always one of my favorite parts. In their case, it involved crossing paths more than once before things finally lined up, which felt very fitting for the tone of their wedding day.
There were a lot of moments that made this wedding stand out. The bride sang her vows, which set a deeply personal tone for the ceremony, and they quite literally tied the knot. Cultural traditions were thoughtfully woven throughout the day as well. The bride and her family are from Laos, and elements of Laotian culture were incorporated into the celebration, while the groom also brought in touches of his German heritage. It felt layered, intentional, and very true to them.
From a photography perspective, Mavericks House allowed the day to unfold naturally. The property offers a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, coastal light, and a calm environment that supports a documentary approach. It’s the kind of venue that lets moments happen without forcing them.
This wedding is one of those days that could easily fill multiple posts, but sometimes it’s best to let the images speak for themselves.
