Brazilian Room Wedding in Berkeley | Tilden Park Documentary Wedding Photographer
This Brazilian Room wedding in Tilden Park was a long time coming, and absolutely worth the wait.
The Foxes originally booked me back in 2019 for a 2020 wedding, and like so many couples, their plans shifted along the way. After rescheduling and sticking it out through a very uncertain time, they finally celebrated their wedding in 2022, and the joy of finally being there together was unmistakable.
We started the day with first looks at the Berkeley Rose Garden, which felt like the perfect calm before the celebration. It was also my first time meeting the couple in person, something that’s become more common over the years, especially with so much planning happening online. Still, once the day begins, everything falls into place quickly.
From there, we headed to the Brazilian Room at Tilden Park, one of Berkeley’s most iconic wedding venues. Set among trees and nature, the Brazilian Room offers a warm, classic setting that feels both elegant and deeply connected to its surroundings. It’s a space that holds emotion well, and this ceremony was no exception. The vows were heartfelt, the groom cried, and pretty much everyone else followed.
The Foxes looked incredible. Eli wore a classic black tux, and Ellen stunned in an elegant, modern gown with pockets, always a win, and a reception outfit change that was perfect for dancing. Their wedding felt very much like a family affair, with an energetic dance floor, a memorable bouquet toss, and the kind of celebration where everyone shows up fully.
The Brazilian Room continues to be one of those venues where the combination of setting, history, and community really shines. It’s always a joy to photograph weddings there, especially days like this one that feel deeply personal and long-awaited.
