San Francisco City Hall Weddings

A young bride in a white dress holding a bouquet of flowers, standing in an elegant, arched hallway with light streaming through windows, casting striped shadows on the floor, photographed on film.

San Francisco city hall is one of the most iconic wedding spaces in the city (dare I say, of California), and while many couples choose it for smaller elopements, it also works beautifully as the first stop in a full wedding celebration.

For couples planning a wedding day that begins at city hall and then continues elsewhere in San Francisco, maybe a trolley ride through Golden Gate Park, portraits in a nearby neighborhood, or dinner at a lovely restaurant, I offer full wedding day coverage that moves naturally with the flow of the day, without feeling overly structured or rushed.

My signature coverage blends digital and film photography, paying close attention to the relationships, rhythms, and the in between moments that make each celebration yours. Whether the day unfolds like a big joyful gathering or more like an intimate dinner party, my goal is always the same, to document it honestly by simply being a thoughtful observer.

My favorite celebrations are when couples are unapologetically themselves and get to fully enjoy the celebration they thoughtfully planned together.

Half day wedding coverage begins at $4500
Full day wedding coverage begins at $7000

A wedding ceremony takes place inside an ornate, classical building with high ceilings, large windows, and detailed architectural decorations. A woman in a striped dress stands between two men in suits, holding a book, while the audience watches, some taking photos.

“We worked with Cherlyn for our engagement and our wedding, and could not have asked for a better photographer. First and foremost, her photos are amazing. All of our family and friends who are into photography are impressed by her skills. Her ability to "chase the light" and capture those special moments led to many breathtaking photos. More importantly, Cherlyn made us feel comfortable throughout our photoshoots, especially since we are not the most extroverted couple. With her direction, we managed to look natural in our posed and candid photos, which is not an easy feat. We also appreciate how quickly Cherlyn works, as she sent over sneak peaks mere days after our engagement and our wedding. It was easy to communicate with her throughout the planning process, and we cannot thank her enough for her support. We highly recommend Cherlyn as the photographer for your event.”

“We absolutely loved working with Cherlyn as our wedding photographer! From start to finish, she made everything feel so natural and comfortable. Her friendly and easygoing personality really put us at ease during the shoots, which made for authentic and beautiful photos. Cherlyn was fantastic at giving thoughtful feedback and had wonderful input on the flow of the day. On top of that, she was very responsive and timely with delivering photos, which made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. She truly captured all the special moments with such care and creativity. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and personable photographer!”

Reflections on the Experience

A man in a suit holding a drink and a woman in a white dress and sunglasses having a conversation at the outdoor art club near a building with green door and windows. Others are visible in the background.

My wife and I hired Cherlyn for engagement and wedding photos, and we both agree that it was the best wedding decision we made. Neither of us is naturally the most comfortable having our photo taken, but Cherlyn immediately made us feel at ease in our engagement session, and the photos came out so beautiful. My wife also surprised me with a book of boudoir photos that Cherlyn took as a wedding gift, and they are breathtaking. After our wedding, Cherlyn sent us a sneak peek the very next day, and we were in tears looking through the photos. We truly never imagined that we would have such beautiful photos of the two of us, so we have been just blown away by Cherlyn's work. We can't wait to get the full gallery. Cherlyn is a really special person, and we will cherish these photos forever. Thank you Cherlyn
