My Approach

I photograph weddings as they unfold, with a calm, observant presence and very little interruption. My work is rooted in documentary storytelling, shaped with a loose editorial eye, so moments feel natural, intentional, and never forced.

I focus on presence, connection, and emotional nuance, paying close attention to the relationships, rhythms, and in-between moments that make each celebration unique. Whether the day feels like a big joyful gathering or an intimate dinner party, my goal is always the same: to document it honestly and thoughtfully.

My signature coverage blends digital and film photography, allowing me to move fluidly throughout the day while creating a layered, cohesive visual story.

I care a lot about who I work with, and I think that goes both ways. I've found that the couples and planners I connect with most tend to share similar values. - A 2-3 min highlight reel of your day set to music as well as the raw film file.
Three hours of an open-air photo booth experience during your reception, with an experienced attendant. This allows guests to capture group shots and playful moments organically, while I stay focused on documenting the day as it unfolds. (includes classic 2×6 prints)

My wife and I hired Cherlyn for engagement and wedding photos, and we both agree that it was the best wedding decision we made. Neither of us is naturally the most comfortable having our photo taken, but Cherlyn immediately made us feel at ease in our engagement session, and the photos came out so beautiful. My wife also surprised me with a book of boudoir photos that Cherlyn took as a wedding gift, and they are breathtaking.
