Wedding Wednesday - Venue Highlight: The Brazilian Room
The Brazilian Room is one of my favorite local wedding venues in the East Bay, and a space I’ve photographed many times over the years. Located in Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley, the Brazilian Room is operated by the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD), which manages several beautiful, nature-forward venues throughout the East Bay.
In addition to the Brazilian Room, the EBRPD also operates venues like Temescal Beach House and Fern Cottage, both of which I’ve photographed weddings at as well. Each venue has its own personality, but they share a similar approach, thoughtfully designed spaces set within nature that encourage connection, community, and a relaxed pace.
I’ve photographed many weddings at the Brazilian Room and always appreciate how consistently well it holds a wedding day. The setting feels timeless, the flow works naturally for ceremonies and receptions, and the surrounding landscape becomes part of the experience rather than just a backdrop.
The Brazilian Room also maintains a preferred vendor list. While vendors do pay a fee to be included, it’s a well-curated list, and many of the photographers and vendors on it are people I know personally and have worked alongside over the years. It’s a respected group and a testament to how popular and well-loved this venue is.
Brazilian Room Venue Highlights

A warm, wood-paneled interior that works well year-round
Seamless indoor and outdoor flow for ceremonies, cocktail hour, and receptions

The Brazilian Room continues to be a standout choice for couples planning a wedding in Berkeley or the greater East Bay who want a setting that feels grounded, natural, and welcoming.

Affordably priced - so you can spend more of your budget on the food, the music and hopefully the photos :)
You do have to use an approved caterer, you can view the list here. I have worked with most of these caterers and not just at the Brazilian room, so I do have my favorites. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to know who are my favorites.
